Industrialization

Industrialisation is the phase during the development process where special attention is given to requirements that will be encountered during the production of the product.

Typical such requirements are:

- Component availability and cost with special attention to alternative suppliers
- Ease of production processes
- Generation of additional production documentation
- Production tooling
- Packaging and logistics
- Automatic test equipment

This phase is generally incorporated as an integral part of the development phase but in situations where very large quantities are considered for production, it is advantages to pay special attention to it.
